Australian government to combat inconsistent teacher quality

The Australian Department of Education released a report warning that the country needs a coordinated national approach to standardize teaching quality and meet projected teacher shortages. The report called for a new national body to coordinate professional standards as well as oversee the accreditation of teacher preparation programs.
