USDA forecasts record soybean planting

The agency's "Prospective Plantings" report predicts U.S. farmers will plant 75.4 million acres of soybeans this year, up 3% from last year, and also forecasts 79 million acres of corn, though higher fuel and fertilizer prices may discourage some corn planting. Domestic demand for corn and soy are pushing prices higher, leading to the larger predicted plantings.
