Automakers watch blogs to fine-tune marketing

Ford Motor Co. has hired Cincinnati technology firm Intelliseek to plumb chat rooms, blogs and discussion boards for comments on the upcoming 2006 Ford Explorer. Other automotive companies are doing likewise, using Internet researchers like Brandimensions and BuzzMetrics to track online mentions and commentary as a means to adjust their marketing efforts.
