$350M ethanol plant approved in Albany

In what is being called the largest project in the history of the Port of Albany, N.Y., the Albany Port District Commission has approved a proposal by Albany Renewable Energy LLC to build a $350 million ethanol plant on a 20-acre riverfront property. The plant is expected to bring in as many as 350 barges a year for 600,000 tons of cargo, and should create 300 to 400 construction jobs.
