Lower corn-crop estimate feeds cost concerns

The USDA has predicted that farmers will reduce corn crops by 8% this year, prompting manufacturers to become worried about the plan's effect on the production of a wide range of food and beverages. The agency, however, stressed that corn acreage will "remain at historically high levels" and price projections will stay strong due in part to the growing ethanol industry.
