Study: Diabetes increases heart attack, stroke risk

A new Danish study published in Circulation has shown that diabetes patients have more than 2.4 times the regular risk of dying from cardiovascular disease, approximately the same as individuals who have had a heart attack. One researcher encouraged early primary prevention of cardiovascular diseases for diabetics.
