Mars Snackfood calls for new school-nutrition standards

An executive with Mars Snackfood US testified before a Senate committee that federal school-nutrition standards need updating. Hank Izzo, vice president for research and development, said snacks sold in schools should have no more than 35% of calories from fat and 10% from saturated fat, and less than 35% sugar by weight.
