Small outfits shed more jobs than big business in March

The ADP National Employment Report released on Wednesday indicates businesses with fewer than 500 employees shed 614,000 jobs in March, while larger firms lost 128,000. Experts say many small businesses had held onto their employees hoping that business would pick up, but they are running out of options as the recession lingers.
