Worldwide hotel construction dries up to almost nothing

With room demand deeply depressed and credit extremely tight, lodging companies aren't interested in new capacity and the construction pipeline has just about dried up, according to a report by Lodging Econometrics. But some smaller projects backed by local lenders have a chance of getting off the ground, the data provider said.
