Bye Energy to launch electric-powered systems for aircraft

Bye Energy has launched a plan to develop electric-powered systems for aircraft, as well as an electric-hybrid propulsion system. The company, based in Greenwood Village, Colo., plans to begin testing "proof-of-concept" flights in seven or eight months. George Bye, chief executive officer, said the company will take hybrid concepts from the automobile market and apply them to aircraft.
