Georgia vet helps with U.S. agricultural efforts in Afghanistan

A veterinarian from Carrollton, Ga., is on a nine-month mission in Afghanistan to inform locals on the proper treatment of sick animals and train paraprofessional vets on modern veterinary procedures. The vet was sent by the USDA as part of the agency's efforts to help produce enough qualified vets to address the growing demand in Afghanistan.
