Airlines quietly raise bag fees along with ticket prices

Airlines have been raising fares in response to higher oil prices and improved demand, but increased luggage fees are also part of the strategy. Some carriers have added fees for checking a second piece of luggage on international flights, while others have raised existing fees. In some cases, charges for oversize or overweight bags have doubled.
