Southwest plans job offers for all AirTran employees

AirTran Airways says some of its 8,000 workers -- particularly those in finance and information technology -- are leaving ahead of a planned merger with Southwest Airlines. A Southwest spokeswoman says the company has "every intent" of offering jobs to all AirTran employees, though some relocations may be necessary. In an effort to prevent defections, AirTran has set aside $10.2 million for retention bonuses.
