More schools turn the tables on classroom lessons

A growing number of teachers nationwide have adopted a flipped instructional model, using class time for practice, while students view lectures at home via online videos. "It's the beginning of an innovation that will transform the classroom ultimately," said Susan Patrick, president and CEO of the International Association for K-12 Online Learning. While the number of flipped classrooms nationwide is unknown, the online Flipped Class Network has 3,200 registered members.
