Tenn. district adopts IMPACT evaluation system

The recent decision in Memphis, Tenn., to adopt the IMPACT evaluation model, which was developed under former District of Columbia Schools Chancellor Michelle Rhee, could indicate the potential spread of IMPACT, according to some observers. However, teachers in Memphis already are raising concerns the evaluation model will be used to force long-serving teachers into retirement. The superintendent in Memphis disagreed with that assessment.
