Appeals court rules in favor of streaming service Aereo

A federal appeals court on Monday ruled 2-1 in favor of streaming-video service Aereo, upholding a previous rejection of an injunction sought by broadcasters. The court ruled that broadcasters' claims that Aereo's service infringes their copyrights "are not likely to prevail on the merits." Aereo is also reported to have held talks with Internet service providers and pay-TV distributors about a plan to expand beyond its New York base, although its legal challenges have proven to be an issue.
