Flurry terms phablets as "fad," lauds midsized phones

Owners of medium-size smartphones and full-size tablets are active users of their mobile devices, according to a report from Flurry, the mobile analytics firm, which found relatively little application activity for the large-screen products known as phablets. Flurry, which divided 200 models into five categories, found tablets of at least 8.5 inches in size and phones between 3.5 and 4.9 inches as having especially outsized app usage. "Phablets are a fad," Flurry commented.
