Lion Air aims to expand and compete in Asia, Australia

Lion Air is looking to expand across Asia and Australia after placing more than $45 billion worth of orders over the past two years with Airbus and Boeing. With a backlog for 559 narrow-body aircraft, the carrier says it wants to have 1,000 planes in its fleet over the next decade. Malindo Air, Lion's Malaysian budget business arm, is set to challenge AirAsia with flights starting this year.
