Major earthquake could harm dams in the Northwest, official says

The possible impact of a major earthquake on 20 dams in Oregon and Washington is being examined by the Army Corps of Engineers. The Northwest is at risk of a catastrophic earthquake along the Cascadia Subduction Zone, scientists say. Dams could be damaged by an earthquake but would be unlikely to fail, said Matt Craig of the Corps of Engineers.
