Majority of NS workers from Va. facility's closure to be rehired

Norfolk Southern plans to provide new jobs for at least 90 employees affected by the closure of the railroads's hump yard in Roanoke, Va., according to NS spokesman Robin Chapman. For instance, the Class I has offered new jobs for signalmen to be based in Bluefield, W.Va., and "we expect there will be more," Chapman said.
