More funding is needed for Part C services, advocacy group says

The Council for Exceptional Children's Division for Early Childhood, in a letter to the Obama administration, is calling for an increase in funding for early-childhood services under Part C of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. "Partnerships at the state and local levels will ensure that: young children with disabilities and their families have meaningful access to early-learning programs; service providers that work with these IDEA programs have access to professional development opportunities; and state systems' efforts focus on all young children including those with disabilities," the letter states.
