NPR's "Talk of the Nation" will take last call in June

NPR's two-decade-old call-in show "Talk of the Nation" will air its last show toward the end of June, with public radio stations being encouraged to fill its afternoon slot with a longer version of "Here and Now" from WBUR in Boston starting July 1. The change reflects local stations' desire for a mid-afternoon, magazine-style program and NPR's interest in moving away from opinion, officials said.
