Taiwan plans to loosen investment limits for Chinese firms

Taiwan seeks to boost ties with China by allowing Chinese banks to acquire larger stakes in Taiwanese banks and loosening restrictions on Chinese investments in its financial industry. "By investing in each other's insurers, banks and asset managers, we hope to boost the size of Taiwan's financial markets," said Jennifer Wang, a vice-chairwoman of the Financial Supervisory Commission in Taiwan.
