Dermatologic surgeon describes Corseta technique

Closing Mohs and other surgical wounds using the Corseta technique involves using dissolvable barbed sutures in a corsetlike pattern, says ASDS member Dr. John Strasswimmer, director of the melanoma and cutaneous oncology program at Lynn Cancer Institute in Boca Raton, Fla. The technique can be performed more quickly than conventional suturing and allows the closing of fragile and catastrophic wounds, Strasswimmer says.
