Hotel design: Invisible technology, timeless style

Hotels can create more customer appeal by avoiding trends and going instead for a timeless look that includes, but doesn't flaunt, technology, said hotel owners, architects and other experts, speaking at the recent Hotels Innovate forum in Miami. "We are walking backwards from technology," said B. Tuckey Devlin, president of the new Hemingway Hotels & Resorts group. "Not from the operations of the hotel but from the touch and feel of the hotel. It's intended to be, when you walk into the hotel, you can't really tell what the age of the property is."
