Study: Probiotics may not benefit colicky infants

Infants with colic who were given a daily dose of the probiotic Lactobacillus reuteri were no less likely to cry or fuss than were those who did not receive such supplements, according to a study on the website of BMJ. Researchers even found that babies who were given probiotics and were formula-fed cried or fussed about 49 minutes more each day compared with the placebo group.
