Free-Tuition Bill Aims To Lure Teachers

In an effort to ease Illinois' teacher shortage, the state House yesterday passed a bill that would give free tuition to college students in exchange for their commitment to work five years in areas with severe shortages. The deal applies to accredited Illinois public or private colleges and universities. The bill now moves to the state Senate.
