Google prepares to sell Performics

Google, seeking to avoid the appearance of a conflict of interest, will sell the search engine optimization firm Performics, which it acquired as part of its purchase of DoubleClick. Tom Phillips, who is leading the charge to integrate DoubleClick with Google, wrote, "Maintaining objectivity in both search and advertising is paramount to Google's mission and core to the trust we ask from our users."
