Intel has high hopes for mobile Internet devices

Intel says it believes its chip technology can facilitate a new genre of portable devices known as mobile Internet devices, or MIDs, which have the capability to support Web browsing, navigation and Internet chat. "What enables the innovation is the ability to bring over all the existing PC applications," said Anand Chandrasekher, general manager of the company's Ultra Mobility Group.
