Carriers have lowered their fares for travel into June signaling concern about filling seats as the peak travel season begins. Tom Parsons, CEO of Bestfares.com, said airlines are offering round-trip tickets as low as $78 on many routes. Deals are being seen for even smaller cities "like Roanoke, Va., which never gets invited to a fare sale," Parsons said. "It just shows how desperate (the airlines) are."
