FDA approves Teva's version of Yaz oral contraceptive

The FDA approved Teva Pharmaceutical Industries' copy of Yaz, a birth-control pill developed by Bayer HealthCare Pharmaceuticals. Last year, Teva unit Barr Pharmaceuticals resolved a patent dispute with Bayer by signing a licensing agreement that allows the Israeli firm to launch its version July 1, 2011, or earlier in other circumstances.
