Kuwait's bourse suspends trading in 20% of listed firms

The Kuwaiti stock exchange halted trading in shares of Global Investment House, Investment Dar and dozens of other listed companies after they did not publish earnings for 2008 on time. The bourse did not say when trading will resume. In the past, similar suspensions have lasted several days. "Trading in the shares of 36 firms will be halted ... starting Wednesday, April 1 for not presenting the [2008] annual financial reports on time," the exchange said in a statement.
