Report: 27% of Oregonians with special needs struggle after school

A year after graduating or aging out of school, 1,150 of the 4,200 Oregon students who completed their special-education services in 2006-07 had neither worked nor enrolled in college or job training, according to a state report. But the results varied by district, the report found, with students from some districts twice as likely to find work or continue schooling as those from other systems.
