Stimulus funds may not be enough for some states:

Even though California soon will receive more than $4 billion in education stimulus funds, the money won't be enough to cover the state's $7.4 billion in school-funding cuts. Some education leaders worry that the state Legislature will attempt to tap the funds to plug holes in its budget. More than 30,000 California educators have received preliminary layoff notices.
