Upbeat global data boost Asian share markets

Asian markets gained Friday, spurred by a series of positive economic indicators from around the world. Japan's Nikkei 225 added 0.4%, Taiwan's Taiex inched up 0.2% and Malaysia's KLCI rose 0.7%. South Korea's Kospi Composite and China's Shanghai Composite gained 0.3%. Markets in New Zealand, Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore, India, Indonesia and the Philippines were closed.
