Wisconsin phosphorus ban in effect

A law has taken effect in Wisconsin that will no longer allow residents to use turf fertilizer containing phosphorus for their lawns or other landscapes, except in agricultural production, pastures and home gardens. Other restrictions mean fertilizer cannot be applied to frozen ground or to impervious surfaces such as driveways and sidewalks.
