ACC backs TSCA reform despite a lack of legislative traction

Legislative efforts to reform the Toxic Substances Control Act may fail, as all amendments are far from happening, "let alone major amendments," said James Aidala, a law firm associate and former Environmental Protection Agency official, at the recent GlobalChem conference in Baltimore. However, the American Chemistry Council continues to support reform efforts. "It's time to modernize TSCA to provide a stronger sense of trust in the federal government's oversight of chemicals," ACC President and CEO Cal Dooley said during the conference.
