Burger King is trying to overcome its reputation as a follower by revamping its offerings as part of the chain's biggest-ever menu expansion. The chain is also giving its restaurants a facelift while introducing new staff uniforms and a celebrity-focused ad campaign. "We had salads, but they weren't as good as the competition," says Tom McDonald, who owns 19 Burger King locations. "We focused on burgers maybe longer than we should have."
