Obese children prefer low-glycemic diets, researchers find

Obese children who tested three diets lost weight on each of them but had the most trouble following the low-carbohydrate plan and the easiest time with the low-glycemic diet, University of Cincinnati researchers reported in the Journal of Pediatrics. Clinical dietitian Cathleen Davis at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in New York commented that portion-controlled and low-glycemic diets may work better because they are mainstream and parents would be more familiar with them.
