Old age raises post-surgery complications in thyroidectomy patients

Patients ages 65 to 79 had double the risk of complications following thyroidectomy than younger people, while those ages 80 and older had five times the risk of having post-surgery complications, according to a study in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism.
