British fashion brands try their hand at US retail

UK fashion retailers including Asos, Topshop and Superdry are learning from the missteps of merchants who crossed the Atlantic before them in their efforts at US expansion. Instead of trying to create new American brands, they're trading on their established brands and British cool, which has jumped in the wake of the success of "Downton Abbey" in the US.
