Sustainability at chemical companies is about cost savings but also about innovation, solving global issues and better serving customers, according to this analysis. "In a thoughtful sustainability program, you have to minimize your own footprint -- improve efficiency of resources; reduce emissions; reduce energy consumption. Doing this makes bottom-line sense," says Neil Hawkins of Dow Chemical.
