Conn. grants $3M for 9 state research projects

Connecticut's Biomedical Research Fund awarded more than $3 million in grants toward nine research projects at the University of Connecticut Health Center and Yale University. The fund was established in 2000 by state Sen. Joseph Crisco to research cures for smoking-related illnesses such as heart disease and cancer.
