Mary Jo White appears likely to be confirmed by the Senate as head of the Securities and Exchange Commission, but she'll face big challenges when she takes up her new job, writes Eleanor Bloxham of The Value Alliance and Corporate Governance Alliance. If White can prove herself fair, firm and able to break through congressional and bureaucratic gridlock, she could find herself lauded by the financial industry and its critics, Bloxham writes.
