Eliminating device tax could boost R&D investment in diabetes therapy

Diabetes treatment has substantially improved in recent years, thanks to the development of glucose monitors, patch pumps and other innovative devices, writes Consumers' Research Executive Director Joe Colangelo. These advances, however, are being stifled by the medical device tax. "Reducing or eliminating the medical device tax ... will increase the money that diabetes-focused companies are able to invest into future research," he writes.
