CMS makes final ruling for medical supplies-bidding process

CMS issued new rules for competitive bidding for some medical equipment, prosthetics, orthotics and supplies that will replace payment amounts listed in the agency's fee schedule. The competitive bidding program will start in 10 of the nation's largest urban areas -- including New York, Los Angeles and Chicago -- and expand in the coming years.
