New Louisiana education chief faces obstacles

Paul Pastorek, who pushed for accountability during his eight years on the state Board of Elementary and Secondary Education, on Friday took over as Louisiana education chief, as the department struggles with New Orleans' long-failing public schools. New Orleans schools were taken over by the state, but some lawmakers support returning the schools to local control.
