Physicians lag behind others in move toward e-prescribing

Health plans and pharmacists are moving ahead with implementing e-prescribing systems, but less than 22% of physicians use such systems, according to the CMS. E-prescribing systems could eliminate as many as 2 million drug mistakes a year, but practice administrators say they have experienced physician resistance.
