NTSB reports improved commercial accident statistics for 2008

The National Transportation Safety Board reports there were 20 accidents involving large commercial carriers in 2008, down from 26 a year earlier. None of those accidents was fatal, in a year that the airlines carried 753 million passengers. Commuter airlines also fared well in the NTSB data, with seven accidents and no fatalities.
