Defining effective classroom management

Instructional coach David Ginsburg takes issue with a fellow blogger who writes that behavior management is the key to effective classroom management. Ginsburg writes that while relationship-building is part of classroom management, there also must be a focus on factors such as instruction, materials, policies and procedures and time management. "You can be the world's greatest relationship-builder, and you'll still be toast as a teacher if you're a poor planner or disorganized," Ginsburg writes.
